Clearview™ Anti-Reflective glass is a durable multi-layered anti-reflective transparent coating. Clearview™ also performs like a hard coating with higher surface abrasion resistance than regular glass.
Regular glass reflects 8% of the visible light, causing unwanted reflections and distracting mirror-like effects. Clearview™ reflects less than 0.5%, virtually eliminating these residual reflections and provides reflection free visibility, better than any other product available.

It is glass with a thin-film coating that reduces surface reflections through destructive interference — the coating's thickness (typically quarter-wavelength layers of materials like magnesium fluoride or silicon dioxide) causes reflected light waves to cancel each other out. Standard glass reflects about 8% of light (4% per surface); Clearview® will reduce that to about 0.5%.
They are often confused but work completely differently. Anti-glare glass uses a matte, etched surface that scatters reflections (diffusion), which slightly blurs the image behind it. Clearview® uses optical coatings that eliminate reflections while keeping the glass perfectly clear. Clearview® gives better clarity; anti-glare is cheaper.
Uncoated glass reflects ~8% of visible light across both surfaces. Single-sided AR coating brings this to about 4%; double-sided coating gets below 1%, and premium coatings reach 0.5% or less.

Can it scratch or wear off? It is quite hard and durable for architectural and framing use. But is a very thin coating and can be damaged by abrasive cleaning. Handling and cleaning instructions matter.
Gently — soft microfibre cloth, mild soap or dedicated glass cleaner, no abrasive pads and no scraping. Fingerprints tend to be more visible on AR surfaces precisely because there's no reflection to mask them, which is why oleophobic (anti-fingerprint) topcoats are often added on touchscreens.
Yes — it's routinely combined with lamination for safety and security, low-iron glass (for maximum clarity), UV-filtering interlayers, heated glass, and anti-fingerprint coatings. Laminated Low-iron Clearview® is the premium museum/retail specification.
Typically five times the price of ordinary glass. For architectural sizes, Clearview™ adds a significant premium, which is why it's reserved for applications where reflections genuinely hurt (displays, viewing windows, storefronts).
It improves it — that's the point. With reflections gone and transmission near 99%, objects behind the glass appear brighter, sharper, and with truer colour, to the point where well-lit museum Clearview™ glass is nearly invisible.
